Tension as Gunmen dress in Army uniform, abducts businessman in Ibadan

 

 

 

 

Gunmen have kidnapped a businessman, Mr. Wole Agboola, on his farm at Abaodo, Olukitibi village, in Akinyele Local Government of Oyo State.

The abduction, which occurred on Monday, was said to have been carried out by suspected herdsmen, who wore Army uniform.

A source said Agboola was taken away at gunpoint on his farm located near Kola Daisi University, on the Ibadan-Oyo expressway.

The source said the six gunmen, who were also armed with cutlasses, led 47-year-old Agboola into the bush after harassing the people working on the farm, including guards.

Some workers on the farm are said to be missing.

The Nation learnt that the case has been reported at Moniya Police Station as well as to the Amotekun Corps.

Efforts to speak to police spokesman Olugbenga Fadeyi proved abortive, as he did not pick his calls.
