War As Japanese Police Set To Block IPOB Members From Beating And Arresting Buhari - Post-Nigeria
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, will now be investigated and possibly prosecuted by the British Police, for allegedly forging the Cambridge Certificate he presented at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Recall, that Abba Kyari had told the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal that he collected the Certificates of President Muhammadu Buhari from Cambridge.
In his testimony as the third Defence witness for the President in his case against the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at the Tribunal, Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the President, admitted that he collected Buhari’s Certificates from Cambridge.
Under cross examination, Counsel to the Petitioners, Levi Uzoukwu, told Kyari that he said he is the one who collected the documents from Cambridge. In his response, the Chief of Staff said yes, adding that, he collected the documents on July 18, 2019.
Consequent upon his testimony at the Tribunal, Kalu & Kaul Associate, a Legal Practitioner, petitioned Metropolitan Police Commissioner, seeking investigation of Kyari’s claims.
In the petition dated August 14, 2019, and addressed to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Kalu said: “The purpose of the petition is to request for an official investigation on the circumstances leading to the procurement of the Certifying Statement purportedly issued in the name of Mohammad Buhari, in the United Kingdom, and delivered to Mr. Abba Kyari”.
The petition said that the Cambridge Assessment International Education only delivers the said Certifying Statement either my email or post, and not by by personal collection.
Other Conditions listed on the website of Cambridge Assessment Education International under which the Certifying Statement can be issued to a third party include: “Attachment of photocopy of the Candidate’s Certificate which the third party seeks to verify with the third party’s application form for verification.
“The third party must either be a University or an employer of the Candidate.
“That the submission of application form to the Cambridge Assessment International Education for the issuance of the said Certifying Statement is either by post, fax or email, and not by physical submission.”
The Petitioner wants the the British Police to unravel “where Abba Kyari got the Certificate which he enclosed alongside his application form for the issuance of of the said Certifying Statement, which he claimed he procured from Cambridge Assessment Education International?
“Whether Abba Kyari as an individual can apply for the said Certifying Statement not being an academic institution or an employer of the Candidate.
“Whether the said Certifying Statement can be delivered to Abba Kyari by hand, as he claimed he signed and personally collected same by hand in UK.
“Evidence of the said application by Abba Kyari to the Cambridge Assessment Education International.”
“With greatest respect, Sir, in the circumstance the said Certifying Statement claimed to have been procured by Abba Kyari, is found to be forged, it will be of great service to the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and the International Community, that Abba Kyari is arrested and arraigned in court of competent jurisdiction in the United Kingdom for forgery”, Kalu concluded.
